Jessica Pruzin

Jessica Pruzin is a visual artist based in Geneva (CH). She recently graduated from the photography Bachelor in the Royal Academy of the Arts in Den Haag (NL)

Her work is rooted in the self, reflecting on her personal experiences. Creating is a tool for her to express what she can’t express through words.

The result of her work is often cute but disturbing, creating universes inspired by both fiction and reality.

Although her main practice is rooted in photography, she combines the medium with others such as video, drawing and sculpture.

In my dreams I forget my own existence (2025)

This short film explores my experiences with psychosis during the summer of 2022. A harsh experience that shaped me into the person I am today. Following a non-linear narrative, the film takes place in my hometown in Switzerland, where I spent a month interned in a psychiatric hospital. Taking my own experiences as a source of inspiration, I depict delusions and hallucinations I’ve had through the act of staging. Through this work I blend memories, fiction and reality, portraying myself as the recurring character. The psychosis becomes an immersive experience for the viewer, bringing forward the notion of empathy for the other.
